SPECIAL CAMPAIGN WEEKLY UPDATE

From now until the election, we will be focusing on the crucial midterm elections, on the state, local and national levels. This section will provide information on the activities of the candidates that Talbot Rising is supporting. To kick off the effort, we held a general meeting on Sept. 15 to discuss voter registration efforts and introduce local candidates. JESSE COLVIN HOLDS TALBOT TOWN HALL
Jesse Colvin, who is running for the First Congressional District seat against Andy Harris, is barnstorming the 12 counties in his district starting today. He comes to Talbot County on Oct. 4 for a Town Hall meeting at 7 pm in the Prager Auditorium, 17 S. Washington St., Easton. Share this schedule with your friends and spread the word.  He will be in Kent on Oct. 5, Cecil, Oct. 6 and Caroline on Oct. 7.

COUNTY COUNCIL FORUM OCT. 5
Hear the candidates for Talbot County Council discuss the issues from 3 to 4:30 pm, on Friday. The event will be at Londonderry on Tred Avon, 700 Port St., Easton.

VOTER REGISTRATION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need help with voter registration during a county council forum being held at Easton Club East on Oct. 10. A resident there will be doing registration but is new to the process and has asked if a Talbot Rising member could assist. The setup will start at 6:30 pm, and the events should not go beyond 9:30 pm. Please contact Dave King at dking.dc@gmail.com.

Democratic candidate for governor Ben Jealous will be holding a statewide telecast to talk about Medicare for All. Watch for more information on locations.

CANVASS WITH ROSE POTTER
County Council candidate Rose Potter is looking for volunteers to help with knocking on doors, Oct. 10 and Oct. 17, from 5 to 7 pm. Please contact her or the campaign if you can help. 

LEARN ABOUT VOTE SMART ON OCT. 20
Richard Kimball, cofounder of the Vote Smart Project, will show how to easily access the information you need to decide which candidates to vote for in this year's elections. Billed as a Voter "Self-Defense" Event, it's a free-, not-to-miss nonpartisan opportunity to help citizens become better informed before they head for the polls. The session will be held 2 -4 pm at theTalbot Public Library in Easton.

The Anthony Walker Group will perform to benefit the BAAM Atletic Center.
