This Week's Action Items
#1: MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD BY TAKING THE TALBOT RISING SURVEY
We recently sent out a survey to the entire membership asking what priorities and issues should drive our agenda. Please help shape our future by answering the survey, which deals with issues, strategy, and asks for suggestions. The cutoff date is June 20. Your answers will help light the way ahead. To take the anonymous survey, click HERE.
#2: CALL HARRIS AT HIS ROBO-TOWN HALL
Rep. Andy Harris is dodging another real Town Hall with his constituents, instead setting up a tele-Town Hall for the Eastern Shore. The session will take place at 5:30 pm Tuesday, June 20. It's no substitute for face-to-face questioning. But you can still call in and express your opposition to his votes on health care, financial rollback of rules, and more. Sign up in advance at https://vekeo.com/andyharrismd.
#3: STOP THE SENATE'S SECRET HEALTH BILL
The Senate is taking a page from the House of Representatives and is working in secret to fashion a repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Don't let them get away with it. The Congressional Budget Office gave the House bill terrible marks, saying it would cause 23 million people to lose health coverage. But you can help derail the Senate's action. Call your senators and urge them to halt all action in the Senate until the bill is killed. Indivisible has an action plan to help guide your lobbying. And the Campaign for Guaranteed Healthcare is calling for a week of action in the Senate from July 24-July 1.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE PLANS POSTCARD WRITING CAMPAIGN
The Education Committee will host a postcard-writing event in early to mid-July at the Third Haven Friends Meeting House. The purpose of the event will be to send messages to local, state, and national politicians concerning adequate funding of public education, and the facts about "school choice". Background information and postcards will be supplied.
We need people to help plan this event in the areas of publicity and contacts with PTOs and PTAs, supplies, and information about issues.
Please contact Beth Williams, chair of the committee with ideas at email@example.com
Note: The Education Committee will not meet the first Monday in July in order to focus on the postcard event.
